Holiday Update

I don't think there are that many spoilers in here. But just in case, the following contains spoilers for X-Factor US, The Voice US, Smash, Sherlock, Pitch Perfect, Les Miserables and The Hobbit.

So what did I do for my holidays? SO glad you asked, NO ONE. Jk jk. I spent the marjority watching various films, catching up on television shows while eating a whole lot of junk.

I'll just say right now that my past year can be described and has been documented in movie tickets and polaroids.

• X-Factor US. I wanted Carly to win. And I want her talent. But good on him!
• The Voice US. It was an amazing season but I was really surprised by the last top three. And LOL WHO REMEMBERS HEY MONDAY?
• Smash season 1. It's pretty good. Entertaining with amazing songs and great look at how musicals are made (if it's an accurate portrayal, I really wouldn't know). The personal drama near the end was irritating as hell though. Most of the characters I ended up just tolerating and there were times when I just sat there in disbelief at how ridiculous some of the conflict was (I'M LOOKING AT YOU UMA THURMAN AND PSYCHOTIC ASSISTANT GUY. Don't get me started on Ivy and Michael). Other then that I want Tom and Sam to be my sassy gay couple best friends forever and ever. 
• Re-watched Sherlock BECAUSE WHY NOT. Ughh Benedict your face. And Martin Freeman your face. And Andrew YOUR FACE. Just stop it. Every time I watch each episode, my heart bursts with feels and then my head cannot compute all the feels and then everything within me just can't. Except for Blind Banker which is probably the weakest and most boring out of the whole series. BUT HEY Watson fighting the self serve machine while Sherlock beats an Arabian Knight (I really don't know what else to call him)
• Pitch Perfect. As much as I adore and love Anna Kendrick and her spectacular voice, Rebel Wilson and creepy Asian girl were the stars in the film. Every one liner just set everyone into hysterics. Also loves the mash ups and Breakfast Club referencing AND ANNA KENDRICK CAN I HAVE YOUR DJ EQUIPMENT AND THEN TEACH ME? Be my sarcastic witty best friend please. Btw I know the Cup Song. Maybe I'll post a video of me doing it one day...
• Les Miserables. I've seen the 10th AND the 25th anniversary stage editions so I was prepared in comparison to my non-musical friends. I loved it. At first I wasn't too into Hugh Jackman's tone for the role because I was so used to Alfie  Boe's tenor to just blow my away by it's....BAM-ness (idk....) but it was better as it went on. WHEN COB WILSON CAME ON AS THE PASTOR I FREAKED BUT NO ONE ELSE KNEW. Samantha Barks as Eponine was divine. I adore her version of Eponine, a very close second only to legendary Lea Salonga. Marius was awesome apart from his head shake every time he did a virbrato thing (which is hard to control, I understand). I was pleasantly surprised and impressed by the vocals by Amanda Seyfried and Russel Crowe, especially the latter. But they both hit notes and went places I never expected them to and it was very very lovely. But I have to say ALL AWARDS GO TO MISS ANNE FUCKING HATHAWAY. She made me tear up everytime she came on screen. Don't make that face, please don't cry, DON'T DIE, COME BACK. Her performance was so heartfelt and raw and emotional and the amount of emotional through acting AND singing just MADE her Fantine. 
• The Hobbit. Enjoyed it immensely more than the whole LOTR trilogy. Which would be expected because I watch ALL three with THREE ADDITIONAL HOURS of extended footage in one sitting. This had a lighter and more humorous tone which makes sense because a friend told me the novel was more child-friendly. The action scenes were damn amazing and the FORESHADOWING and things leading up to the old trilogy made me genuinely happy and glad I watched them beforehand. Martin Freeman = Everything good in the world. I really look forward to the next two. 

And so I wish everyone a Happy New Year. Let's hope it will be better than the last. 

It has been an emotional week

First of all: SPOILERS

Once Upon A Time. S02E08
Everytime Hook is on screen I start repeated the phrase "I love you" until the end. I really can't tell which side he is on. By the way. THAT ENDING. This show, man, this show.
Let me tell you about this show. You hear about the general premise of fairy tale characters being sent to the real world. At first it sound stupid and childish and nothing will come of it. I have to admit you had to drag yourself through a few of the first couple episodes. But once you're in, YOU ARE IN. And you are awarded of joining because it gets good. There are plot twists that you will not see coming. There are characters that you will come to admire and love and want to succeed because all he really needs is a big hug and to just find that one person. I admit it could get overly cheesy and in your face about good morals and good/love triumphs all and all that crap. But the drama....it is equally, if not, just as in your face and absolutely addictive.

Vampire Diaries S02E07
Dear Diary,

I almost died to today. It must be Friday....

Anyways I wanted to do the right thing by everyone and once again got in everyone's way. I then felt guilty and made myself the victim by whining to Damon and Stephen. By whining I mean that I moved in with them since my brother is a mix of psychotic ring boy and psychotic vampire hunter. That was of course after every single of girlfriend and parental figure he has ever known have either died by the hands of evil or turned evil and then died, or in my case just got awesomer but also deader. I am so awesome and moral.

Anyways I have to go, Damon is telling me to do something outrageous and totally out of character for me. It must be love!

This show is making me hate all the characters I should love. But I can't stop. The Delena tension (and eruption) was really weird in this episode. It just didn't rub me the right way for some reason even though I've been waiting for this since Damon got on the show....EPISODE ONE. The only thing I'm genuinely LOVING is FKING KLAROLINE. I squealed and giggled and fan girled and oh my godddddddddddddddddddddddd. Please stay together forever. I kind of got annoyed when Caroline and Stephen think that there must be something weird and evil happening because Elena's in love with Damon. She showed all the signs before her change that she had feelings for him, why was this so left field for them? But that twist was pretty good. God, Damon can't catch a break. 

Glee S04E08

Yeah I'm a Gleek and I'm half proud half ashamed. It's a guilty pleasure that everyone knows I take part in. Anyways. This episode was so weird. When it began I got so excited by the return of the ex-glee members. I got 10 times more excited when we heard Mike sing properly for more than just two lines. The mash up was great because I love Home by Phillip Phillips and it blended so well with Homeward Bound (Simon & Garfunkel) I didn't undertand that Kiki scene? I was so alarmed and confused at what was happening. It was both weird and fabulous but mostly weird. The Klaine phonecall gave me the smilies. 

Quinnnnnn, I was hoping you'd be changed and successful but you just got worseeee. But I do miss the Unholy Trinity. Tina singing Gangnam Style gave a semi racist feel (wasn't it established she was Chinese?) but she also got a solo, so I didn't really care.

Kitty is psychotic. I don't understand people, especially people at a really young age, wanting to be mean to someone for such petty reasons and to go to such lengths that would cause someone else just physical harm. Marley could get some really serious health and mental problems from this. How does this not cross this girls mind? 

Community

Sorry I haven't posted much lately. I've been busy with personal matters and being lazy. I'll be honest, I spent most of the past couple of days playing Pokemon Gold while watching three whole seasons of Community for the first time. If I wasn't reviewing each episode and each chapter like I do here, I'd probably be done with most of the series because that's how much of a life I don't have and how much I love good television. I watch in bulk.

Maybe I'm just going to do that from now on. If I want to watch another episode, I'll do it. I'll probably get into it and watch at least 8 per day. I'd upload one at a time or something and video record each one but not upload every vidblog.

Anyways. The real purpose behind this post (before I got ramble-y up there) was to discuss Community. My God I am so ashamed I did not get into this sooner. It's brilliant on all levels! It's like a pop culture candy land which I have devoured all of. By the end of the first episode of season 1, I realised I was a mild version of Abed.

I probably should do this in dot point form to get it all out:

• THE BEAUTY OF META AND GLORIOUS WRITING AND DIRECTION AND POP CULTURE REFERENCES. 
• Top episodes:
• Every single paintball episode. I want those guns. Are they available (or even legal) in Australia? If so, it's high on my Christmas list next to nerf guns (please)
• Abed's Uncontrollable Christmas was a mix between ridiculous, hilarious, heartbreaking and amazing. Just the animation was priceless along with the songs. P.S. PIERCE IS A TEDDY BEAR
• Epidemiology. Look guys, I just love comedic zombies. Zombieland and Shaun of the Dead are some of my favourite movies. So this episode was Halloween crack for me. Especially since we don't celebrate Halloween as much as I like in Australia. 
• Cirriculum Unavailable. I solely liked this episode because I almost fell for the fact that they were all in a mental institution because it is such a LOGICAL EXPLANATION. But thank god it wasn't. 
• The First Chang Dynasty was just so ridiculous. I loved it from beginning to end. The classic looking like they got caught but that was part of the plan. Chang's growing insanity. The group working together to complete something so ridiculous. 
• Digital Estate Planning. Good lord bless these writers. Everytime they spoof or homage something through the layout of the episode, I cry of happiness and the birth of puppies peak. Taking on video games, making Abed find his true love in an avatar and WHY IS GIANCARLO ESPOSITO EVIL IN EVERY TELEVISION SERIES HE IS IN?
• Basic Lupine Urology. BEST SPOOF EVER. Troy and Abed just make me wish I had two bromantic friends. 
• Remedial Chaos Theory is probably one of my most favourite episodes in general television. I am in love with infinite parallel/alternate universe theories. The fact that it was this show that pulled it off so well...it just makes me happy.

• General:
• Abed + Troy = One of the top bromances
• Pierce is always giving me conflicting emotions. One moment he's obliviously offensive, then he's a sad old man and then I want to strangle him for being so....JIFNVJSIDNGJENG. 
• Jeff. I sort of don't ship him with anyone. I really don't like the idea of him and Annie because it just seems.....nyehhh. No likey. I used to go for Britta but then I just got tired of that thought and went along with their awesome childish banter.
• OH Britta and Troy. I'm all for it. They're both adorably stupid in their own way.
• There's a lot of continuity in the show but if you jumped into the series mid-season, you wouldn't be left out. 
• Abed and Troy's handshake and catchphrase/morning show thing
• I equate their Dreamatorium with Spongebob and Patrick's Idiot box
• It's like a combination of some of my favourite sitcoms: Seinfeld, Happy Endings, How I Met Your Mother and some other ones I can't think of right now.

Breaking Dawn Part 2 and Vampire Diaries S04E06

So this won't contain spoilers, per say, but it does hint and imply a lot of what happens. So read at your own risk? I don't know....

Breaking Dawn:
Kristen Stewart looked admittedly really good. But that's a given since she's all vampirey now. The "graphics" or whatever the hell they did to Renesmee did not help one bit. It had the signature awkwardness you'd expect from the franchise and so much ludicrousy that you don't know whether be to angry, hysterical or horrified.  

They gave us exactly what we wanted. As soon as that head was ripped off, I (and the rest of my friends beside me) were just frozen. In shock. Jaws on floor. A sort of mental collect "WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED?" We weren't expecting this. We've all the read the book. This didn't happen. WE ALL WANTED IT TO. AND THEN THEY DELIVERED IT. And then-
As soon as you realise everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, that happened..... I don't even know how to articulate how I felt. I was overwhelmed. I quite literally leaned forward in my seat, head was between knees in my hands and I laughed hysterically. I couldn't. I still can't. It was one of the most ridiculous moments in my life.

Take from that what you will. Just...unless someone tells you, YOU ARE NOT PREPARED.

Vampire Diaries:
I think I'm speaking for a whole lot of people when I say how tired I am of Elena drama. (Although I am a big Nina Dobrev fan. That girl is gorgeous). Not sick of the Salvatore triangle, but the general, endless, infuriating dangerous conflict that happen BECAUSE of her. Also her moral and ethical standing, as much as we get that she's that kind of character and the show needs that kind of element, it's a pain in the freaking arse. She does just cry and whine all the time. We understand why and accept it. But it's so damn annoying.

We were this close guys. This close and it would have stopped. And then Damon came. And things get...not weird...but different.

And then that ending that just happened? It happened. It actually happened. And I like the way it happened. It was mature and sensible and honest and not dramatic. But then, how is this going to unfold in the future? It can't just go BAM and TA DA right? Or it could...I wouldn't mind
